Taking Stock - December 2016

Welcome to the last 'Taking Stock' post for 2016. In case you missed any, you can read all of my Taking Stock posts HERE. Pip from Meet Me At Mike is the mastermind behind this, so be sure to check out her blog. This is something I have done since I started blogging and will continue to do next year - I love looking back at previous months. In a nutshell, it's simply taking a step back and 'taking stock' of what's currently happening in your life.

Here's what's been happening in the month of DECEMBER...

Making: plans for our family holiday in 2017. Exciting!
Cooking: Summer BBQs & salads. Yum
Drinking: my first alcoholic beverage in four years on Christmas Day!! eek I tried the new Long Island Vodka, Lemon & Lime.
Watching: The Minimalist documentary on Netflix.
Trawling: through my Digital Clutter and there was A LOT! Read all about how I KonMari'd my Digital Clutter (including 50,000+ photos) HERE.

Looking: for a new bed for Miss B...her birthday present this year is a bedroom makeover.
Deciding: to finally let go of my sons' baby clothes was HUGE for me. I will share the details in my upcoming series - KonMari With Kids - starting in January 2017. Watch this space

Enjoying: Summer with my family
Loving Summer

Waiting: for my #FMSGiftExchange gift to arrive and it was totally worth it - I love it all. Thanks again, Amy.

Liking: peace and quiet time...so I can write this post. B is watching a movie and M is fast asleep on the couch. Bless.
Wondering: what 2017 has in store for me and my family.
Loving: the kids Christmas presents 'Santa' got them this year - a new trampoline, paddle pool (from Nana & Papa) and a DIY picnic table.

Pondering: what to do for New Years...I'm thinking a picnic by the beach sounds perfect.
Buying: Christmas presents for the kids and I actually stuck to the NEED, WANT, READ and WEAR system.

Watching: the finale of Home & Away and Shortland Street - WOW. Bring on 2017. Gotta love Drama.

Hoping: you all had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends. x

Marvelling: at all the blogging goodness from 12 amazing Kiwi Mummy Bloggers - If you didn't catch the '12 Days of Christmas' posts - see the round up HERE (or click the image below)

Needing: to unplug more...personal goal x
Wearing: 33 items for 3 months - from the 1st January 2017, I am going to give Project 333 a try. I am very excited.
Following: the #normalisebreastfeeding campaign, which is going viral on the internet. I am proud to say that I breastfed my daughter for 25 months and my son for 32 months. I am loving this photo I created in PicsArt - #treeoflife

Noticing: there is a lot more space in my home (and my digital devices) since I finished 'My KonMari Journey' - it's such a good feeling.
Thinking: about my ONE WORD for 2017. What's yours going to be? I will share mine on the 1st January.
Admiring: our Christmas tree at night. I love our Merry & Bright  theme.
Oh, Christmas Tree!

Getting: ready for the new year, which means I packed up all the Christmas decorations and decor. Thankfully I have this amazing decoration organiser that makes the job so much easier. It's so pretty. Everything else goes into a 40L container, and the tree is stored in an under-the-bed container.
Packing up Christmas Decorations

Bookmarking: recipes to try over the summer
Disliking: the humidity. Ugh.
Opening: presents with my kids on Christmas morning. Blessed.

Giggling: at old episodes of Gilmore Girls - I have decided to watch all of the episodes again...it's my ME time
Feeling: blessed - I was able to reunite a box of sentimental photos 'The Box' with it's owner after 14 years and also reunited two best friends after 16 years. There are three parts to my story - warm fuzzies right here >>> 'The Box' Beginning, Middle, & End. ***A MUST READ***

'The Box' I have held on to for almost 14 years!

Hearing: the kids laughing (and squealing)
Celebrating: Christmas & Summer Holidays

Embracing: life
Gasping: at the last scene of Gilmore Girls - Year in the Life - Wow, just wow!
Wishing: all of my amazing readers, friends and family a very Merry Christmas & a wonderful 2017! Thank you all so very much for taking the time to read my posts and connecting with me over the year. It's been amazing.
