TAKING STOCK - June 2016

Welcome to another 'Taking Stock' for 2016. In case you missed it, here's January, FebruaryMarchApril and May. Pip from Meet Me At Mike is the mastermind behind this, so be sure to check out her blog and share the blog love. This is something I have done since I started blogging and will continue to do, this year. You can read my previous Taking Stock posts HERE. In a nutshell, it's simply taking a step back and 'taking stock' of what's currently happening in your life. I am dedicating the last Sunday of every month to a Taking Stock post.

Here's what's been happening in the month of JUNE...

Hoping: to start purging my teacher resources this week - I'm actually looking forward to it.

Needing: to organise the kids toys.

Wearing: my ugg boots. I usually live in my jandals, even through Winter...however it's been cold lately, so I bought a new pair of uggs.

Admiring: my Dad.

SortingLINEN CUPBOARD, HOLIDAY DECORATIONS, HOME DECOR & more Miscellaneous items - thanks to the KonMari method.

Celebrating: Matariki at my school - I presented this amazing korowai (cloak) - covered in 278 feathers, decorated by the students. They all loved it.

Celebrating Matariki
Giggling: at Master M's facials when the rubbish/recycling truck drives passed!

Feeling: blah (emotional) this week. I really hope next week is better.

Helping: a friend re-design her blog - I really enjoy that sort of stuff.

  1. Love that mint coloured stationery! And I'm going to check out that desktop organiser - great idea! Hope you are over your blah-ness :) I hate that feeling!

    1. Let me know if you make one - I would love to see it! Thanks Karen, me too...taking each day as it comes.

  2. How good is that chocolate self saucing pudding? I love that cloak you made at school, the kids must have been stoked! The temperature has plumetted here so I'm all hats and scarves by day and flanelette PJs by night. I totally need some ugg boots! I hope you reclaim that spring in your step this week - blahs be gone!

    1. Oh my! I am definitely making the pudding again! The kids love the cloak - it looks amazing in the Office foyer at school. I need to buy some new pjs - thanks for the reminder! Week is much better - hanging out with my niece and nephew who are visiting from Australia. Hope your week is going great Sammie.

  3. LOVE your mint stationery + pretty desk. How good is KMart?! I am addicted to that place! Taking stock is such a gorgeous idea - I am trying to take a minute every now and then to acknowledge what I'm thankful for and what I need to let go. x

    1. I get excited whenever I see the colour! It's so calming - I love it. Good on you for acknowledging what you're thankful for..what a great idea Mel.

  4. Love the mint stationary!

Watching: the end of GoT and wondering what I will watch next :)
Wearing: Uggs and lots of layers -it is freezing in Melb!
    Celebrating: Mum's 60th birthday can't wait!

  5. I love love love the mint stationery and I am immediately off to check out A little house of sunshine and the custom desktop organiser! I do a huge amount of pretending too but I am learning that it isn't a healthy thing to do!
I have just discovered you through #ibot look forward to checking out all your writing!!

    1. Thanks for your comment Cathy, I really appreciate it. You are so right -
pretending and hiding things are definitely not healthy for the mind, body and soul. I have let go of a few things already and feeling lighter. I'm really glad I just let it all out.

  6. I need to organise the kids toys, I tried doing it on the weekend but my husband came in and decided to just dump it all in a big cane chest and tie it closed. Out of sight and out of mind! #TeamIBOT

    1. My partner keeps going on that our son has too many toys...I will be tackling them (konmari styles) in the next month or so! Can't wait.

  7. Good luck with dry July! I'm sure you will ace it :)
I love the stationary. It doesn't seem to matter how many notebooks I have, I always want more!

    1. Thanks Jess. This is going to be my first Dry July - I don't drink alcohol, but I do drink (a lot) of Coke, so it's going to be an interesting month, to say the least! I love notebooks too. Thanks for stopping by x

  8. Ohhh all the mint green stationery!! Kmart is my happy place :)

    1. Gotta love the mint! Kmart is pretty awesome.
