#TuesdayTen: Top 10 Favourite Children's Books (voted by Mums!)

There are so many amazing Children's books from all around the world, that I couldn't narrow it down to a Top 10 by myself, so I decided to ask a group of Mums on a local Mums & Bubs Facebook page:  "What is YOUR favourite children's book?".

Most of the books that were mentioned are, in fact, some of my favourite books from when I was a little girl, ones that I have read to Miss B, and now she reads them to Master M. I love reading books to my children, at home and in the classroom. No matter what people say READING IS COOL and it's COOL TO READ!

In no particular order...here are the TOP 10 Favourite Children's Books voted by Mums!

1. The Hungry Caterpillar - Eric Carle

2. Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy - Lynley Dodd

3. Dear Zoo - Rod Campbell

4 The Gruffalo - Julia Donaldson

5. The BFG - Roald Dahl

6. Giraffes Can't Dance - Giles Andreae

7. Where the Wild Things Are - Maurice Sendak

In New Zealand Schools - every child who reads - is a "Duffy" kid - this song "Read About It" was written by well-known musicians, Dave Dobbyn & Jan Hellriegel. (Words by Jan Hellriegel & Toi Iti) It is a very popular song in school assemblies. Go on, have a listen! For more details about Duffy - visit Books In Homes.

  2. Thanks Jenessa. It's the Teacher & Mummy in me! These are the books that I read - Children's Books! I have to admit, I'm not much of a novel reader, give me children's books any day! The books you haven't read might be the ones written by New Zealand Authors. It would be awesome if you find them in your library - please let me know. You can also try Youtube if you can't find them in the library. Happy Reading!
